About WipeRadar

WipeRadar tracks public Rust servers and tells you which ones just wiped, which ones wipe next, and where the players actually are.

What this site is

WipeRadar is a wipe tracker for Rust. It lists public Rust servers, shows their live population, and works out when each one is likely to reset, so you can find a fresh start instead of joining a server three weeks into its cycle.

Everything on the site is free to read and needs no account. An account only adds favourites and wipe alerts.

Where the data comes from

Two sources, and neither of them is a third-party server list:

  • The Steam Web API. The full public Rust server list is pulled from Valve's game server directory every 45 seconds. That is where names, maps, player counts, regions, and the tags servers advertise about their wipe schedule come from.
  • The servers themselves. A second worker queries active servers directly over the Source A2S protocol for the things the Steam list does not carry — map size and seed, server FPS, uptime, the description and header image — and aims to get around every active server about every five minutes.

Population history is sampled every 15 minutes, which is what the player charts on a server page are drawn from.

How a wipe is detected

Every Rust server reports the time its current map was generated. When that value changes, the server has wiped. WipeRadar watches it on every scan and writes the change into that server's wipe history, which is why a wipe shows up here without the owner having to announce it anywhere.

This is also why the wipe history is trustworthy in a way that advertised schedules are not: it records what a server actually did, not what its name claims.

What a wipe prediction is — and is not

A predicted wipe time is an estimate. It is built from the typical gap between that server's own past wipes, cross-checked against the schedule the server advertises, and pinned to Facepunch's monthly force wipe — the first Thursday of every month, announced for 2pm Eastern — because almost every server resets on that day whatever its normal rhythm is.

Each prediction carries how much it can be trusted, which is what the Confirmed / Estimated badge on a server means. A server with a long, regular history gets a confident estimate; one that has been tracked for a week does not.

The limits are worth stating plainly. Owners change schedules, wipe early after a bad update, or skip a week entirely, and nothing in the data can see that coming. Treat a prediction as a good guess, not a promise. See the force wipe page for the one date that is genuinely fixed.

Accounts, favourites and alerts

You can sign in with Discord or Steam. An account keeps your favourite servers across devices and lets you subscribe to wipe alerts, delivered either as browser notifications or through Discord. All of it is optional; the site works signed out.

What that stores, and how to get rid of it, is written out on the privacy page.

Get in touch

There is no support inbox — the Discord server is the way to reach us. Bug reports, servers listed wrong, missing servers, and feature requests all go there.
